Child and Adolescent Counselling

I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental counselling space for children and adolescents, helping them explore their feelings, understand their experience, and develop healthy ways of coping with life’s challenges. My practice offers age-appropriate, compassionate support for a range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, emotional difficulties, and school-related pressure, as well as friendship and family issues, confidence and self-esteem, and periods of change and transitions. I work collaboratively with each young person, taking time to understand their individual needs, strengths, and circumstances, while using approaches suited to their age. I aim to help children and young people feel heard, valued, and understood, and to support them in developing greater emotional awareness, resilience, and confidence.

MAKING THE BEST OF THE CHILDHOOD

Children often express their emotions differently from adults, which is why I use play and creative activities to help them navigate feelings of stress, anxiety, and uncertainty in a safe and natural way. My sessions are child-led and cantered around their unique needs, creating a space where they feel secure, understood, and free to express themselves without pressure.

Through storytelling, art, and imaginative play, I help children process difficult emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy ways to communicate their thoughts and feelings. By working at their own pace, I ensure that each child feels empowered and supported, allowing them to gain confidence and emotional strength in a way that feels comfortable to them.

Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, family changes, or other emotional challenges, I am here to provide a warm, nurturing environment where they can explore, heal, and grow.

Navigating Adulthood with Confidence and Support

Transitioning into adulthood comes with its own set of challenges. It can feel overwhelming to manage new responsibilities, navigate relationships, and make important life decisions—all while trying to understand your own emotions. The pressure from school, family, or the future may leave you feeling lost or uncertain, and that’s completely natural.

As a therapist, my role is to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I am here to support you in discovering your own strengths, building resilience, and gaining confidence in handling life’s challenges.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and struggling to make sense of your emotions, seeking professional help can be a valuable step forward. I understand that opening up can take time, which is why I offer different ways to engage in therapy. Whether you feel more comfortable talking in a traditional setting, engaging in an activity, or taking a walk in a local park, we can find an approach that works best for you.

You don’t have to navigate this journey alone—I'm here to help.

Strengthening Families Through Counselling

Family is one of the most important aspects of life, shaping our experiences, relationships, and well-being. Because of this, family dynamics and interactions can have a profound impact on our mental health. At times, challenges such as the loss of a loved one, financial stress, or ongoing conflicts can affect not just one individual, but the entire family unit. This is where family counselling can help.

Family counselling is a collaborative process designed to support families in resolving issues that impact their well-being and functioning. In a safe and supportive space, I work with families to explore their dynamics, improve communication, and address unresolved conflicts. The goal is to strengthen relationships, foster understanding, and create a more positive and harmonious family environment.

Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply want to improve family relationships, family counselling can provide the guidance and support you need.
